DEPARTMENT OF FINE ARTS

Department of Fine Arts (DFA) is one of the core units of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Prishtina and represents a key center of higher education in visual arts in Kosovo. The Department develops study programmes structured in accordance with European standards of higher education, integrating artistic practice, critical thinking, and the professional development of students.

The study programmes in Visual Arts (BA and MA), accredited until 2030, are aligned with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) and the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance (ESG), ensuring transparency, comparability, and international academic mobility.

Teaching is based on intensive studio work, individual mentorship, and the development of artistic projects, supporting a clear progression from foundational training to independent practice and advanced artistic research.

The Department aims to position itself as a reference centre for education in visual arts at the regional and European levels, continuously developing links with international practices in art education and the contemporary art scene.

The programme is distinguished by the integration of artistic practice with research-driven and interdisciplinary approaches, fostering an environment in which individual artistic development is closely aligned with contemporary cultural and professional contexts.

This programme is supported by the specialised infrastructure of the Faculty of Arts, including studios, exhibition spaces, and the Faculty Gallery, enabling the public presentation of students’ work.
