The Painting Specialisation (BA) offers a structured and contemporary university education in painting practice, built upon intensive studio work, the development of visual thinking, and critical reflection. Aim of the Specialisation

 

The aim of the Specialisation is to educate emerging artists with solid technical, conceptual, and reflective competencies in the field of painting, capable of developing an independent artistic practice and engaging in professional, cultural, and educational contexts.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the studies, students of the Painting Specialisation (BA) are able to:

  1. Explain the basic and advanced principles of painting, composition, and the use of colour;
  2. Understand the characteristics of painting materials and techniques in historical and contemporary contexts;
  3. Apply various painting techniques in a conscious and functional manner;
  4. Develop visual compositions with structural and conceptual coherence;
  5. Analyse and evaluate artistic work through critical discussion and aesthetic reflection;
  6. Produce independent projects in painting at the bachelor level;

Entrance Examination

Structure of the Entrance Examination

 Day I – Drawing

  • Portrait or figure (live model);
  • Assessed: proportions and accuracy, form, lighting, and composition.

 

Day II – Painting

  • Execution of a painting based on a topic assigned by the committee;
  • Assessed: use of colour, composition, expression in painting, and visual sensitivity.

 

Interview / Essay

  • Short interview / motivational essay;
  • Assessed: motivation for studies, interest in art, and artistic orientation.
