The Advisory Board represents a strategic pillar of the academic and professional development of the Faculty of Arts. It creates a structured space for dialogue between the University and the sectors that actively shape art, culture, and the creative industries. Through the contribution of external experts and key stakeholders in the field, this Board ensures that study programmes remain contemporary, relevant, and future-oriented. The Faculty of Arts remains committed to the continuous strengthening of this structure as an essential partner in academic governance and educational innovation.

1. General Description

The Advisory Board (AB) is an institutional advisory body of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Prishtina, established to ensure sustainable links between higher education, the labour market, and contemporary developments in the fields of visual arts, music, theatre, film, and creative industries. The AB functions as a strategic mechanism that guarantees the relevance, quality, and social orientation of study programmes.

2. Mission

The mission of the Advisory Board of the Faculty of Arts is to support the academic unit in enhancing the quality of teaching and the development of study programmes with high professional relevance, through structured academic and professional guidance based on expertise, practical experience, and direct knowledge of the needs of the artistic and cultural sectors and the labour market. Through this engagement, the Advisory Board contributes to building an education system oriented toward contemporary practice, innovation, and the sustainable professional preparation of students.

3. Role and Function

The Advisory Board has an advisory and recommendatory role in:

  • Reviewing and developing study programmes
  • Aligning curricula with labour market needs and the creative industry
  • Identifying emerging academic and artistic trends
  • Supporting the professional preparation of students for contemporary practice
  • Building partnerships with public, private, and cultural institutions

4. Composition

The Advisory Board of the Faculty of Arts consists of:

  • Representatives of the academic staff of the Faculty of Arts
  • Representatives of public cultural institutions
  • Representatives of the private sector and creative industries
  • Professionals and experts in artistic fields
  • Student representatives

This composition ensures a sustainable integration of academic knowledge and professional practice, reflecting the standards of modern university governance.

5. Duties and Responsibilities

The main duties of the Advisory Board of the Faculty of Arts include:

  • Providing recommendations for improving study programmes
  • Advising on professional competencies required by the labour market
  • Supporting initiatives for professional practice and employability
  • Contributing to the development of career policies and mechanisms
  • Providing expertise in accreditation and institutional self-evaluation processes

6. Functioning

The Advisory Board meets periodically, usually once or twice per year, or as required by the strategic needs of the Faculty. Meetings are organised in coordination with the management of the academic unit and serve as a platform for structured discussion, critical analysis, and the formulation of actionable recommendations.

7. Contribution to the Development of the Academic Unit

Through its engagement, the Advisory Board of the Faculty of Arts contributes to:

  • Enhancing the academic quality of study programmes

9. Cooperation with the Career Development Center

The Advisory Board of the Faculty of Arts works closely with the Career Development Center (CDC) of the University of Prishtina in:

  • Identifying labour market needs and professional competencies
  • Developing professional internships and employment opportunities for students and graduates
  • Involving employers in career orientation and counselling activities
  • Supporting initiatives for employability and the transition from studies to the labour market

This cooperation aims to establish sustainable career development mechanisms within the Faculty of Arts.
