Department of Musical Arts
In DAM there are a total of 2 bachelor's study programs and 3 Master study programs that include all specializations through different profiles.
BA profiles each have 240 ECTS credits, split equally between four academic years. Ma Profiles have 60 ECTS (performance profiles and composition) and 120 ECTS (Music Education). The language of lectures at BA level is in mother tongue. In relation to ma level studies, the language can be combined between mother tongue and English.
The study programs are reformed in last accreditation process after a thorough and inclusive review and reform process.

In line with up's mission to provide artistic and creative music pedagogical studies, the Faculty of Arts, Department of Music (DAM) offers the bachelor of music basic study program in two profiles: Composition and Music Education.
This study program in combination with musical, analytical and general subjects develops the competences foreseen for bachelor's degree in artistic studies according to AEC [1]: a) artistic/perform/creative competences b) analytical-theoretical musical competence and c) musical pedagogical competences. The Bachelor of Music study program produces qualified professional music staff who will teach theoretical subjects in professional music schools, even for the subject of music education in general, elementary and secondary schools.

The Bachelor of Music in Performance study program through a combination of musical and performance art subjects, the analytical and general theoretical music produces qualified instrumental/performer/conductor/conductor in several profiles: artistic interpretation/performance as an independent soloist, member of professional ensembles and orchestras, soloist in orchestra, opera and other forms of artistic and contemporary music. A graduated instrumentist prepares to contribute as a teacher of interpretation, in the respective instrument, to the level of pre-university musical education. At the end of the Bachelor of Music in Performance study program (for all profiles of this program) students will acquire artistic skills, analytical musical knowledge and general knowledge and skills.
Master Studies
MASTER OF MUSIC - COMPOSITION - 60 ECTS
The Master of Music in Composition aims to further develop and deepen the skills and knowledge of students in the field of composition, expanding them as well as the framework of compositional techniques, repertoire, genres and personal portfolios, which influences the student's personal and artistic development. They develop a deepened attitude towards the creative process, and self-love for experimentation in different forms, genres and genres.
MASTER OF MUSIC - MUSIC EDUCATION – 120 ECTS
In line with up's mission of providing creative arts studies and music education, faculty of Arts, Department of Music Art (DMA) offers the Master of Music Education to contribute to the production of creative artistic and pedagogical -musical values of music teachers. The Master of Music study program produces qualified staff and produces professional music teachers for general music education and teachers for music/analytical/theoretical subjects in professional music schools. In addition to the developed teaching skills at bachelor level, master studies develop research skills in the field of music education, thus complementing the set of knowledge and skills needed for effective and creative music teachers who address the challenges of music education. The student carries out research paper in various musical disciplines on issues related to the wide field of music education.
MASTER OF MUSIC IN PERFORMANCE – 60 ECTS
Students in this study program specialize at the most advanced level for artistic performance skills in the respective profile aiming at high standards of artistic performance; theoretical-musical and pedagogical skills for instrumental music/singing/conducting, as well as the development of creative and performative individuality and independence of artistic thought, through mentorial study and public performances, as a soloist or part of ensembles, choir, orchestra or other musical formations.
In addition to this primary focus on performance, these students also round out their pedagogical-artistic training and are enabled through school practice and didactic-methodical courses to be employed as a lecturer for performing relevant profiles in specialized music schools. With this duality they contribute to the continuous establishment of specialized cadres of art and culture, developing and adducing the profession of the performer artist through multidimensional artistic practice.
